Excalibur's Zombieland Rewview

Synopsis
In a post-apocalyptic world that has been ravaged by Zombies four survivors [begrudginly] band together to make it through the horror infested world of Zombieland, time to nut up or shut up.

Review

Jesse Eisenberg plays "Columbus", all the characters are named after the cities they are trying to reach, or coming from, a awkward college kid who provides the emotional anchor to Woody Harrelson's ass kick, gun toting, take no [zombie]prisoners "Tallahassee" and love interest to the sexy Emma Stone's "Wichita", and are joined by her little sister "Little Rock", Abigail Breslin. The heart of the movie is the budding romance between Columbus and Wichita, along with Columbus' desire to step up and be a man to impress her, and Tallahassee's non stop search for a twinkie. As cool and awesome Woody's character is, its the Columbus character that makes him that much cooler, because we get to see him through Columbus' eyes. But the character also becomes sympathetic. Early in the film Tallahassee expresses his desire to kill all Zombies because they killed his dog.

But later it is revealed it was actually his son that they killed, and he hid this fact by making his son a dog in his story. However Tallahassee takes up with Little Rock in a father/big brother-daughter/little sister relationship. Again for the Wichita character Eisenberg provides the emotional anchor to the audience. Shes not a prissy girl, but is a bitch, a drop dead gorgeous one at that. But Eisenberg's character is smitten with her the second he sees her, and because of that she shows us that she is a caring individual. The whole movie isnt a serious take on Zombie movies, in the horror sense. A spoof of them, sort of. The characters are in peril at various times, especially in the climax where they are surrounded by hundreds of Zombies so its not a total spoof of Zombie movies.

The effects seem sort of low budget compared to other movies as far as the visual effects where some parts are obvious computer generated. The costuming however is quite good on the zombies themselves looking realistic and over-the-top as well. For the human actor's costumes, they just do what they're suppose to do in telling you about the characters without saying anything. IE: Eisenberg dresses like he just got outta school, Harrelson looks badass, and Emma Stone, looks hot; well they coulda dressed her up as a clown and she'd still look hot, but thats beside the point.

Other notable things are Bill Murry's cameo, which in itself is one of the reasons Id reccomend watching this movie aside from Emma Stone.

Final Thoughts
Buy this movie. What are you waiting for? Worth every penny you'll spend. The only thing this movie needs is for Valve to release a DLC with Zombieland locations and characters.
